Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations. At a Model UN conference, students step into the shoes of UN member states, adopting the views of their delegation in order to debate in character. Student delegates make speeches, prepare resolutions, and negotiate with allies and adversaries, all in the hopes of finding solutions to real-life problems.
HAMMUN2012 is the third annual Model UN conference organized by the students of Westdale Secondary School. It will be taking place on April 28, 2012 at McMaster University, and is open to students in middle school and high school. Register here to participate.

Located in Hamilton, Ontario, Westdale has been home to an active Model UN Club for several years. Led by teacher advisor Krista Levely, Westdale students attend over five conferences annually. Recently, they have participated in prestigious conferences at Brown University (BUSUN), University of Toronto (UTMUN), UC Berkeley (BMUN), and the Secondary Schools’ United Nations Symposium in Montreal (SSUNS). Beyond attending conferences, Westdale MUN works vigorously in the Hamilton community to engage fellow students in Model UN activities. They equip teachers and students with the resources to start their own Model UN clubs and well as organizing an annual conference, HAMMUN, which they hope you’ll attend. Furthermore, if you wish to start a Model UN programme at your school, please contact
